Stand Up For Lake Erie

More than 100 gallons of sewage flow into Lake Erie every year, leading to dangerous bacteria levels that caused more than 1,200 beach closings and advisories in 2010 alone. The EPA can fix this problem by updating clean water standards, but polluters and their allies are threatening to block them. To protect Lake Erie, we need to show massive public support for clean water.

Protect Hocking Hills

More than 3 million Ohioans visit Hocking Hills State Park each year to experience its natural beauty. But the Hocking Hills region is threatened: oil and gas companies want to conduct shale gas drilling in 3,000 acres of Wayne National Forest. This type of drilling involves hydraulic fracturing—or "fracking"—and poses significant risks to public health and the environment. We need to stand up for Hocking Hills and stop this shale gas drilling before it starts.

Defend Ohio's Clean Energy Future

Too much of our energy comes from dirty sources that harm our environment. But by tapping the power of the sun and wind, we can repower Ohio with clean energy that doesn’t pollute and never runs out. Ohio's Clean Energy Law of 2008 was a huge step in the right direction—but Gov. Kasich wants to roll back the progress we've made.

Clean Air, Healthy Families

New EPA clean air standards will cut mercury pollution by 90% and save 46,000 lives each year. The coal industry and their friends in Congress are trying to roll back these standards, but we’re urging Congress to let EPA do its job and move forward with its commonsense plan to protect public health.
